Senator Shagaya dies in motor accident

Former Senator representing Plateau Southern Zone, General John Nanzip Shagaya (Rtd), has died following a ghastly motor accident on his way to his hometown, Langtang.

Shagaya was an erstwhile Senator who represented Plateau South in the National Assembly from 2007 – 2011.

Shagaya was also a former ECOMOG Peacekeeping Commander in Liberia and a former Minister of Interior, under General Ibrahim Babangida’s regime.

According to family sources, he died after a ghastly motor accident along Langtang Road, in southern plateau.

The former Senator was recently appointed by President Muhammadu Buhari to head the board of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS).
