Senate reveals IG order on visit to Dino Melaye

Following the denial of Senate delegation to see Senator Dino Melaye at the National Hospital, Abuja, Senate Deputy leader, Senator Bala Ibn’Nallah has revealed that there was a standing order by the Inspector General of Police that only Senator Abu Ibrahim and Baba Kaka Garbai be allowed to see Dino on his sick bed.

Senator Abu Ibrahim is the Chairman, Senate Committee on Police Affairs and a close confidant of President Muhammadu Buhari while Baba Kaka Garbai is the Chairman, Senate Committee on Rules and Business.

Bala Ibn’Nallah told Senate plenary after he was asked by the Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki to submit his report immediately the delegation came back from the hospital.

He also told the Senate that Dino Melaye was being starved as he has not eaten since his travails started.

According to him, SARS operatives said it was not their responsibility to feed him, while medical personnel of the intensive care explained that they could not feed the embattled lawmaker for security reasons.

But Dino himself was said to have made up his mind to eat only food brought by his personal cooks.

“Mr. President, Distinguished Colleagues, we were stopped from seeing Dino. We were told it’s only Senators Abu Ibrahim and Baba Garbai’, Na’Allah reported.

Senators who were virtually nervous and saddened moved that the Senate President visits Dino alongside few others.
