President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is currently convening his inaugural meeting with governors of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who form the Progressive Governors’ Forum (PGF). The meeting, taking place in the Council Chamber of the Presidential Villa, Abuja, features Vice President Kashim Shettima among its attendees.
Among the attendees of this momentous meeting are the PGF Chairman and Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodinma, and other distinguished governors such as Babajide Sanwo-Olu (Lagos), Abdullahi Sule (Nasarawa), Umar Namadi (Jigawa), Inuwa Yahaya (Gombe), Yahaya Bello (Kogi), Professor Babagana Zulum (Borno), and Mai Mala Buni (Yobe).
Also present are Uba Sani (Kaduna), Dikko Radda (Katsina), Father Hyacinth Alia (Benue), AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq (Kwara), Dapo Abiodun (Ogun), Umar Bago (Niger), Aliyu Ahmed (Sokoto), Francis Nwifuru (Ebonyi) and Bassey Otu (Cross River).
However, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu (Ondo), Biodun Oyebanji (Ekiti), and Dr Nasir Idris (Kebbi) are noticeably absent from the meeting.
Additional attendees of the meeting, which began at approximately 11:35am, include the Permanent Secretary of the State House, Tijjani Umar, and the former Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Nuhu Ribadu.
This meeting marks the beginning of President Tinubu’s formal interactions with APC governors, paving the way for collaborative governance in the APC-led states.
