OAU loses final year student

A final year student of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Obafemi Awolowo University, Segun Abidoye reportedly died on Thursday after a brief illness.

DAILY POST gathered from the faculty that Late Abidoye took ill on Monday and went straight to the Institution’s health centre.

He was later referred to the Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital (OAUTHC) from where he was transferred the same day to the Seventh Day Adventist Hospital, Ile-ife.

Abidoye eventually passed away in the early hours of Thursday in the hospital.

Although, the nature of his death is yet to be ascertained at the time of filing this report, the President of the Pharmaceutical Association Of Nigeria Students (PANS),OAU Chapter, Mr Ojelabi Jesujoba, described the death of Abidoye as a rude shock.

“His death is a colossal loss to Ife pharmacy students, and the University community at large.

The Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Erhun Wilson, expressed dismay over the sudden death of the student, he, however, announced that the interment of the late student would take place at the university cemetery before 4pm on Friday according to Islamic rites.
