1. The Nigerian government has reacted to the robbery incident in Offa, Kwara State that led to the deaths of over 15 persons.

President Buhari said he sympathized with the families of victims, residents of Offa, the Government and people of Kwara State, on Thursday’s violent robbery attack.

2. Suspected herdsmen during the weekend slaughtered one Mr. Andrew Ataboh and his son at Innahim farm settlement in Benue.

It was gathered that Ataboh of Okokolo ward and his son were abducted by the herdsmen in a farm settlement yesterday and their lifeless bodies were found by residents of the area after much search.

3. Former governorship aspirant under the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Imo State, Brady Chijioke Nwosu has resigned from the party.

Nwosu lamented that the PDP was in power 16 years but failed lived up to expectations of Nigerians.

4. Senate President Bukola Saraki said, yesterday, that President Muhammadu Buhari did not consult with the leadership of the National Assembly before the executive approved the release of $1 billion for the purchase of arms to fight insecurity in the country.

Saraki also said that the leadership of the National Assembly was not aware of the plan by the executive to get N4.2 billion bonds until the President wrote to the Senate and the House of Representatives seeking approval for the issuance of promissory note to offset inherited local debts.

5. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has said it cannot investigate a former Deputy Senate President, Ibrahim Mantu, who recently confessed to rigging previous elections in favour of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)

The Director of Publicity and Voter Education, Mr. Oluwole Osaze-Uzzi, said it would take action only when any security agency sends a report to the commission regarding Mantu’s claim.

6. National Christian Elders’ Forum, NCEF, at the weekend, disowned some pastors who made a solidarity visit to President Muhammadu Buhari at the Aso Rock Presidential Villa last week.

NCEF, in a statement signed by the chairman, Elder Solomon Asemota, warned that the group portends danger to all Christians in Nigeria.

7. A former Governor of Abia State, Mr. Orji Kalu, has asked retired military generals to stop attacking President Muhammadu Buhari whom he said has done so well since he assumed office.

The former governor, who spoke at the palace of the Deji of Akure, Oba Aladelusi Aladetoyinbo, on Friday, during a visit to the monarch, stressed that there was no need for the retired Generals to attack the President in the name of criticism.

8. The pioneer Chairman of the Independent Corrupt Practices and other related Offences Commission, ICPC, Justice Mustapha Akanbi, retd, has told the President Muhammdau Buhari-led government what to do to those named in the looters’ list released by Reno Omokri, an ex-aide to former President Goodluck Jonathan.

He said those named in the list should be handed over to anti-graft agencies for interrogations.

9. The National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Prince Uche Secondus, has warned Nigerians against reelecting the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, in 2019.

Secondus said Nigerians must vote out the Buhari-led government for the country to move forward.

He said this while addressing a mammoth crowd of PDP members and supporters in Katsina State on Saturday.

10. In sports, Bayern Munich secured a sixth straight Bundesliga title, after a 4-2 win over Augsburg on Saturday.

After thrashing Borussia Dortmund 6-0 last weekend, the Bavarians needed one more win to be confirmed champions, which they got on Saturday.
