1. Four policemen were reportedly kidnapped and a security van burnt after suspected Fulani herdsmen ambushed them in Logo LGA of Benue State on Saturday.

The officers were said to be returning from a confidence-building mission in remote villages when suspected herdsmen opened fire on them in Tse Akpam village, near Azege town.

2. Three University of Maiduguri (UNIMAID) lecturers abducted by Boko Haram terrorists in Magumeri, Borno State ‎have been released.

Buhari’s Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, said also released by the Boko Haram terrorists, were 10 women kidnapped in a raid by the militant group on a military/police convoy on Damboa Road, near Maiduguri.

3. Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State ‎has declared that President Muhammadu Buhari is not in charge of Nigeria and that the country is being governed by a cabal in the Presidential Villa.

The governor, who said he does not have any personal problem against the President, insisted that Buhari does not have the political will to tackle security challenges facing the country, such as the incessant attacks by Fulani herdsmen.

4. Two groups of the Catholic Bishops Conference of Nigeria, Caritas Nigeria and Justice Development and Peace Commission have condemned Kogi state governor Yahaya Bello over his statement concerning Catholic bishops’ visit to Buhari

The National Director of the groups, Rev. Fr. Evaristus Bassey in a statement said Bello is a disgrace to the Not-too-Young-to-Run Campaign, for allegedly insulting Catholic bishops over vote of no confidence passed on President Buhari.‎

5. The Minister of Communication, Adebayo Shittu, has said that President Muhammadu Buhari has done more for Igbo and Yoruba people than the House/Fulani in this administration.

He pointed out that while some Nigerians are condemning some policies of the President, he (Buhari) is being celebrated daily in Europe, the Asia and even on the African continent.

6. The Catholic Bishop of Sokoto Diocese, Most Revd Dr Matthew Hassan Kukah, has warned Nigerians against being deceived by the Coalition of Concerned Nigerians formed by ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo.

Kukah also told Nigerians that President Muhammadu Buhari has done all he can and has nothing else to offer.

7. The northern elders on Saturday floated a new group called Northern Political Leaders Forum (NPLF).

The group emerged at a meeting of Northern Elders and Stakeholders Conversation co-convened by a former national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Dr. Bello Mohammed; former Deputy Senate President Ibrahim Mantu; and Second Republic Senator Paul Wampana.

8. A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has lambasted former presidents Olusegun Obasanjo and Ibrahim Babangida.

In an article titled ‘Why President Muhammadu Buhari’s case is different’, Igbokwe said Nigerians are ignoring both Obasanjo and Babangida because their assessments of the nation’s leader were done in bad faith.

9. A mystery snake is said to have sneaked into the account office of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB, in Makurdi, the Benue State capital and made away with N36 million cash.

A sales clerk, Philomina Chieshe, told JAMB registrar and his team that she could not account for N36 million she made in previous years before the abolition of scratch cards.

10. President Muhammadu Buhari yesterday denied that the Federal Government has concluded plans to create cattle colony across the nation.

Buhari, who spoke at the South-South interactive meeting of Buhari Support Group in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State ‎capital, said the office of the President under the 1978 Land Use Act has no control of lands in states, except in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja.
