NASSLAF crisis ends, new executives inaugurated

The crisis rocking the National Assembly Legislative Aides Forum finally came to an end on Thursday following the inauguration and unveiling of elected officials by the Clerk to the National Assembly, Alhaji Mohammed Sani-Omolori.

The group in statement signed by its Chairman, Honourable Samuel Melaye, and Secretary, Michael Oladipo, said the resolution of the crisis was reached upon a joint agreement between the Samuel Melaye and Darlington Udeh factions.

According to him, the middle ground reached by both factions was birthed by the decision of both groups to work together in the interest and benefit of legislative aides.

The statement reads: “We wish to formally inform the General public and the entire members of National Assembly Legislative Aides Forum that aftercare series of fence mending effort between stakeholders, diligently teleguided by the intervention of the National Assembly management. The leadership of NASSLAF is are made up of the following elected officials.

“They are: Sam Melaye, Chairman; Samsung Zurich, Vice Chairman; Michael Oladipo, General Secretary; Banny Elijah, Assistant General Secretary, Yusuf Sheriff, Public Relations Officer 1; and Ibrahim Nassir, Public Relations Officer 2.

“Others are Barrister Kingsley Nzemechi, Legal Officer 1; Barrister Dayo Fadugba, Legal Officer 2; Osondu Madu, Financial Secretary; Abbarett Nathanyahu Abbarett Tsenfaah, Assistant Financial Secretary; Sheriff Yusuf Banki, Treasurer; and Adeyemo Bolanle, Welfare Officer.”

“The resolution was reached upon joint agreement between the Sam Melaye and Darlington Udeh led groups, who both agreed to work together for the benefit of all legislative aides in the National Assembly.

“It is on this score that we implore all aides to lend a hand of fellowship and full support to the new NASSLAF Executive.

“It is in our common interest to embrace a known leadership with which our grievance can be channeled for the purpose of getting the needed attention from the Management of National Assembly.

“We look forward to a robust engagement with aides and management in the coming days,” the statement added.
