The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has called on relevant authorities to take immediate action to rescue abducted university and secondary school students. Two female Microbiology students from Federal University, Gusau, Zamfara, and 10 female secondary school students from Kachia LGA in Kaduna State are currently in captivity.

Deputy Coordinator of Inter-Campus Affairs for NANS Zone A, Mr. Vanessa Kwere, issued a statement after meeting with the management of the university. Kwere emphasized the importance of government intervention, as the abducted students are under their care.

During their meeting, NANS representatives discussed the abduction incident, ongoing rescue strategies, and the university’s efforts to maintain security. The acting Vice Chancellor assured the union that the institution is doing its best to rescue the kidnapped students.

NANS also expressed concern over the abduction of 10 female students from Kachia LGA in Kaduna State and called for immediate intervention from the Federal Government and relevant security agencies.
