MJTF kills 3 kidnappers in Rivers

Three suspected kidnappers have been killed and another captured by officials of the military joint task force around Isiokpo community in Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers State.

Security operatives ambushed the armed suspected kidnappers, including Chiwendu Ezekwu popularly called Point and Kill, who allegedly attempted to kidnap one Pastor Lawrence of Mountain of Fire Ministries, serving in Igwuruta community.

An eye witness, Pastor Humphrey Nsirim, said the security operatives acted on information in carrying out the operation.

Nsirim said the security operatives trailed the suspects as they broke into the Pastor’s apartment to kidnap him.

Pastor Nsirim said the victim had noticed the presence of the kidnappers and alerted the military operatives deployed in the area who ambushed and killed three and captured one alive.

One of the kidnappers who is alleged to be an indigene of Isiokpo who survived bullet wounds on his two legs confessed to the security team on how he has been leading his gang to kidnap innocent people in parts of Ikwerre and Emohua local government area.

A senior Police officer at Isiokpo Divisional Headquarters have also confirmed the incident.
