Miyetti Allah, Police speak on killing of herdsman in Benue-Nasarawa border town

A herder and five cows have been killed by a militia in Gidan Duo village, Giza in Keana Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.

Another 20 cows were injured in the attack.

Chairman of Miyatti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) in Giza Development Area, Hassan Abubakar, confirmed the development to Daily Trust on Thursday.

He said the herder identified as Saleh Yau was killed by an armed gang.

Nasarawa State Police Public Relation Officer, DSP Idrisu Kennedy, also confirmed the incident.

“The victim went to a border town in Benue State to graze his cattle and was shot by the gunmen but was able to cross into Nasarawa.

“The incident was reported to the police in Giza, and in the course to take him to the hospital he died”, Yau said.
