Mimiko joins 2019 presidential race

Former Ondo State Governor, Olusegun Mimiko has announced his decision to contest the 2019 presidency on the platform of the Labour Party (LP).

The Former State governor will be contesting on the flagship of the Labour party, LP.

Mimiko made the declaration at about 12:15pm, at an event which held at the National Secretariat of the Alhaji Abdulkadir Abdulsalam-led LP, in Abuja, on Thursday.

Speaking at the event he said there comes a time in the life of a nation where all patriots must stand up to be counted.

The aspirant said, “I have found it compelling to declare my intention to run for president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria”

Mimiko lamented the killings that are going on across the country especially in the middle-belt, saying purposeful leadership was required to halt the carnage.
