Lagos City Marathon: Abraham Kiprotich wins 3rd edition

Kenyan-born French long distance runner, Abraham Kiprotich, has won the 3rd edition of Access Bank Lagos City Marathon.

He returned 2hrs 15mins o4secs.

On the other hand, Ilya Pam won the indigenous race with 2hrs 27mins.

Participants defied an early morning rain to run in the 42km race which started at the National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos.

The rain, which started at about 5 a.m. did not hinder participants who turnout in their thousand to participate.

NAN reports that over 100,000 people participated in the IAAF Bronze Label Race which offers 208,000 dollars for grabs.
