Former Sokoto State Governor, Attahiru Dalhatu Bafarawa, has alleged that Nigerian politicians are behind the incessant clashes between Fulani herdsmen and farmers in the country.

Bafarawa also blamed the federal government for not heeding to advise ‎that would give people the opportunity to evolve measures that would address the menace.

‎In an interview with journalists in Sokoto, Bafarawa on Sunday evening, described as unfortunate what the country was going through.

“Politicians have succeeded in penetrating the two sides involved in the crisis.

“What has conventional herdsmen have to do with guns and why now?”

“If the FG had listened to the views of the people right from time the killings we are witnessing would not have continued,” he said.
