Kaduna Govt deploys 11,395 newly recruited teachers to primary schools

The Kaduna State government has deployed 11,395 newly recruited teachers to its primary schools after the screening exercise.

The state commissioner for education, Ja’afaru Sani said the 11,395 teachers were distributed to the over four thousand public primary schools across the state.

He explained that over 19 thousand applicants were seeking to join teaching profession in the state.

“The second phase of the recruitment exercise will commence, and end by May 2018. All the primary schools will have the number of teachers required for teaching,” he added.

The commissioner said apart from the ongoing teachers recruitment exercise, the state government had begun the distribution of 15,000 Tablet phones to teachers in order to harness the benefit brought by technology in teaching aspect.

According to him, “Schooling and learning are two different things, there is need to make learning centers conducive and on the other hand we need to employ quality teachers.”

Beside that, he said, “105 motorcycles have been distributed to State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) to run oversight function in places hard to reach.

“The state government has drafted design for building houses for teachers in hard to reach areas for them to reside in.”
