Adediran said this in an Instagram post, where he also predicted that the upcoming election cycle would herald a “new era” for Lagos.
The governorship candidate also revealed that he and Bankole Wellington, the PDP candidate for the House of Representatives in the Eti-Osa Federal Constituency, better known as Banky W, met with the Christian Association of Nigeria, Lagos State Chapter. He said they talked about their vision for the future of Lagos State, especially concerning protecting religious freedom.
Adediran praised CAN for their involvement in the electoral process and asked them to “use their influence to push for progressive leadership” in the state.
Adediran said, “I met with the Christian Association of Nigeria executives in Lagos. Bankole Wellington, our PDP House of Reps candidate for Eti-Osa Federal Constituency, accompanied me. As he is fondly known in entertainment circles, Banky W is a much-loved leader in the Christian community in Lagos, and his nomination is seen as a shift in the right direction.
“We went to discuss our plans for the future of Lagos and share with the representatives our vision for the future of our great state as it regards the protection of religious freedoms.
“I applauded CAN and other religious organisations for taking an active interest in the elections and encouraged them to use their influence to push for progressive leadership so that we do not repeat the unfortunate events that have defined the tenure of the present administration.
“I am reassured that this election cycle will defy all the stereotypes that have defined elections in the past. We will finally be ushered into an era of peace and economic prosperity for Lagosians.
“May our prayers to God turn for supplications for relief from injustice and manufactured poverty to thanksgiving for promises fulfilled,” he concluded.
