Zidane stated this on Friday ahead of Real Madrid’s La Liga clash against Eibar on Saturday.
Hazard has been on Real Madrid’s radar over the last few months, with Zidane a known admirer.
DAILY POST recalls that Real Madrid contacted Chelsea last month over their bid for Hazard as Zidane returned.
The Spanish giants are eyeing Hazard as a replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo, who after nine years, left the Santiago Bernabeu for Juventus in an £88million deal last summer.
Asked about Hazard at a pre-match press conference on Friday, Zidane was quoted by Eurosport as telling reporters: “He is a player I have always rated, as everyone knows.
“He is a player that has played in France, that I have watched a lot and that I know personally.
“There’s nothing new about what I think of him as a player. He’s a fantastic player.”
