Two policemen and an official of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) have been shot dead in Ciki Da Falo, a village in Birnin Gwari local government area of Kaduna State.

Reports say 15 people, including two brides, were abducted during the attack, which occurred on Thursday.

Austin Iwar, Kaduna State Police Commissioner, who confirmed the incident to TheCable, said he was yet to get the details of the attack.

Just last week, a village head and five others were killed after suspected bandits attacked Sarari village near Kuriga town in Birnin Gwari Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

The development prompted, Zubairu Gwari, emir of Birnin Gwari, to ask his subjects to defend themselves against those invading their communities.

“We can’t be fools to wait for somebody that will not come. Nobody can stop me from telling my people to protect themselves. And that is what we are doing now because the policemen that are in Birnin Gwari cannot protect.

“The soldiers that are being brought come and sometimes make matters worse. I am also appealing to the president to come and see things for himself, because we are also Nigerians,” he had said.
