Governor Abubakar declares state of emergency on tertiary institutions in Bauchi

Governor Mohammad Abdullahi Abubakar has declared a state of emergency on the state own tertiary institutions.

The declaration came at a time when the College of Education, Kangere, Bauchi state matriculated about 3,442 students in 2018/2019 calendar.

A Special Adviser to Governor Abubakar, Comrade Sabo Mohammed disclosed this at the matriculation ground in Kangere while representing the governor.

Abubakar lamented that the declaration of emergency on the education sector followed the inheritance of a sector in comatose.

The governor added that it will hasten infrastructural development in the college to accommodate the alarming indices of students’ population.

He noted that government from inception had placed education and agriculture top on its priority.

According to Abubakar, similar efforts are on the pipeline to provide portable drinking water in all tertiary institutions in the state.

” Already, government has liaised with the National Commission for Colleges of Education for the accreditation of various courses in all tertiary institutions to reflect on the state of learning materials procured to hasten education development,” Abubakar maintained.
