Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Yahaya, has announced the dissolution of his cabinet, instructing all appointees to submit comprehensive handover notes before Wednesday, April 19, 2023. The directive was detailed in a press statement dated April 11, 2023, titled “Submission of handing-over notes of Ministries, Department and Agencies,” signed by Rabi’u Abubakar on behalf of the Office of the Secretary to the State Government.
Abubakar emphasized the urgency of the matter in the letter, which was addressed to various government offices, including the Principal Private Secretary Government House, the Permanent Secretary, the Secretary to the State Government, and the Clerk Gombe State House of Assembly, among others.
The statement explained that the cabinet dissolution is due to the administration’s electoral victory in the recent gubernatorial election, marking the end of Yahaya’s first term in office.
The statement read, “Following the recent successful conduct of the 2023 Governorship Election, which marked the end of the first tenure of His Excellency the Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya (Dan Majen Gombe). I am directed to request you to prepare a comprehensive handing-over note of your Ministry, Department, and Agency. Your submission may also include the report of ongoing projects and programmes of government.”
Appointees are required to submit their handover notes to the Office of the Secretary to the State Government by April 19, 2023, and to treat the request as urgent.
