Fatal accident claims six along East-West road in Rivers [PHOTOS]

At least six people have been confirmed dead in an accident involving an 18-seater commercial bus and a heavy-duty vehicle along the Emohua local government axis of the East-West road in Rivers state.
Eyewitness accounts revealed that the commercial bus was en route Lagos from Port Harcourt and had burst into flames after a head-on collision with the mobile crane.

The eyewitness, who identified himself as Chief Samuel Azundah, said six passengers died instantly while nine others sustained serious degrees of injuries.

Chief Azundah also said, “A young man and a lady survived with minor injuries. They have been rushed to the hospital.

“Another man that looks like a Navy officer is part of the unlucky six.”

Meanwhile, security agents have been drafted to the scene of the crash at the time of filing this report.
