Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United will on Saturday evening clash with Tottenham Hotspur at Wembley Stadium in the semi-finals of the FA Cup.
Mourinho’s men are aiming to finish this season with a piece of silverware, after last Sunday’s traumatic home defeat to West Bromwich Albion at Old Trafford that handed rivals, Manchester City the Premier League title.
The Red Devils heads into this clash following their 2-0 victory against Bournemouth on Wednesday night in the Premier League.
United, who are currently occupying the second position of the Premier League table with 74 points from 34 games, are comfortably on course to secure a Champions League place for next season.
Mourinho’s side have kept a clean sheet in six of their last eight matches in the FA Cup.
Mourinho retained both Ander Herrera and Paul Pogba, who were criticised against West Brom, but both players responded with decisive display in the win over Eddie Howe’s men.
Alexis Sanchez was left out on Wednesday clash against Bournemouth and may feature against Spurs.
Romelu Lukaku started on the bench against the Cherries but he will likely start against Tottenham.
Nemanja Matic should also come back into the starting XI against Spurs, although Marouane Fellaini will provide Mourinho with another option in the middle.
Meanwhile, Mauricio Pochettino’s Tottenham heads into this clash after their 1-1 draw against Brighton on Tuesday in the Premier League.
The FA Cup is the only last route to a piece of silverware for Pochettino’s men this season.
Tottenham are likely to finish fourth in the Premier League table this term and securing Champions League qualification will be a relative success as Pochettino will try to keep his key players together over the summer window transfer.
Spurs, who are currently occupying the fourth position of the Premier League table with 68 points from 34 games, have won ten league games and lost two at Wembley this term.
Kieran Trippier is likely to replace Serge Aurier at right-back, but Danny Rose is still struggling for match fitness on the other wing.
Eric Dier will provide competition for Victor Wanyama, while Mousa Dembele may likely take the place of Moussa Sissoko.
Lucas Moura took the place of Erik Lamela, but the Argentine may return back into the team at the weekend if he can hold off competition from Son Heung-min.
Toby Alderweireld will return in the heart of defence and will now be competing with Davinson Sanchez for a place next to the in-form Jan Vertonghen.
