Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger, has reacted to the club’s 2-0 win over AC Milan at San Siro on Thursday.

The Gunners defeated AC Milan 2-0 in the first leg of the Europa League round of 16, taking a major step towards reaching the quarter final.

Going into the game, Arsene Wenger’s men had won just once in their last five in all competitions.

Wenger had earlier said that the only way his side could make it to the Champions League next season was to win the Europa League.

First-half goals from Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Aaron Ramsey silenced the crowd at the San Siro.

Speaking after the game, the Frenchman said, “It’s an important win, we had a nightmare week, it’s a good win but it’s not qualification.

“Overall I’m happy with our spirit and the response we gave.

“Our speed dropped in the second-half. We became a bit too cautious but we defended with resilience.”
