Europa League: Balague gives 3 reasons Arsenal won’t beat Atletico Madrid

Spanish football expert, Guillem Balague has provided three reasons Arsenal will not beat Atletico Madrid in their Europa League semi-final.

He stated that three ongoing problems at the Emirate won’t allow Arsenal progress in the competition.

The Gunners have faltered in the Premier League this season but are hoping to win the Europa League.

However, in drawing with Atletico in the semi-finals, Arsenal missed out on slightly easier ties against Marseille and Red Bull Salzburg.

And Balague said when Arsene Wenger clashes with Diego Simeone in the last four, there is no chance of the Premier League side progressing.

A Spanish outlet had slammed Arsenal over their lack of character, defensive ability and attacking style.

Balague wrote on AS football, “It’s possible that they lack character.

“That would explain their horrendous away form. Defensive problems are their main limitation.

“They concede almost every game, and Petr Cech has picked the ball out of his own net more in 2017-18 than in any other season.

“The attractive football of the past has disappeared. Just two years ago, Arsenal created more clear chances than any other Premier League side.

“Last season they created the third most, and this season fourth.”

Wenger’s men welcome Atletico to the Emirates on Thursday April 26
