Chelsea defender, Cesar Azpilicueta has praised his side performance following their 3-0 victory over Huddersfield Town in their Premier League opener on Saturday evening.

Goals from N’Golo Kante, debutant Jorginho and Pedro secured the victory for the Blues at the John Smith’s Stadium.

Azpilicueta, who captained the West London club, said that it was important to get off to a winning start under new manager, Maurizio Sarri.

The Spain international also said that the Blues players will give their all for Sarri, adding that they must get ready to battle Arsenal in their next EPL fixtures.

“We have been working really hard with Sarri. He knows what he wants and our target was to start really well which we have done and now we must get ready for Arsenal,” Azpilicueta told BBC Sport.

“Our signings have been very good, adapting very quickly to the team and being comfortable in the team and we have a very good squad.

“When we created chances today we were clinical. The goal just before half time was massive going into the second half. It meant we could control the game and we could have scored more goals in the end. In the first half every ball and every cross was dangerous for them.”
