EPL: Lampard to replace Sarri as Chelsea manager after Europa League final

Chelsea are preparing to fire Maurizio Sarri, regardless of whether he wins the Europa League and want to bring in Frank Lampard as his replacement, Sky Sport Italia reports.

Sarri has struggled to win over fans despite a solid first season in charge at Stamford Bridge, in which he reached the final of two Cups and finished third in the Premier League.

Nevertheless, the Blues are looking to change their manager after the Europa League final and want Lampard to usher in a new era.

The former Chelsea midfielder is currently preparing to face Aston Villa in Derby County’s promotion play-off decider at Wembley next week.

Stamford Bridge bosses have been impressed with the way Lampard has carried himself and are believed to be keen to bring him back along with Petr Cech.
