EPL: Chelsea vs Crystal Palace: Michael Owen speaks about clash, predicts match

Liverpool legend, Michael Owen has backed Chelsea to beat Crystal Palace in their English Premier League (EPL) fixture on Saturday evening.

Owen believes the Blues can win Palace at Stamford Bridge so as to bounce back to winning ways ahead of their UEFA Champions League round of 16 second leg clash with Barcelona on Tuesday.

“Palace have won their last two PL games at Stamford Bridge and only Blackburn Rovers (1993/4 to 1995/6 inc) have won three successive PL games at Chelsea,” Owen told BetVictor.

“The Blues travel to Barcelona midweek and I expect Antonio Conte’s side to get back to winning ways against Palace.

“Having lost four of their last five league games they certainly need a confidence booster ahead of their Champions League tie, which hangs in the balance at 1-1 after Messi’s late equaliser in the first leg.”

Chelsea have lost four of their last five Premier League games to heap pressure on manager, Antonio Conte.

Conte’s side are seven points behind fourth-placed Tottenham Hotspur in the EPL table.

The Kick off time for the match is 6:30pm.
