Ekiti guber: Why Ojudu is superior to Oni, Fayemi – Media aide, Oluwagbemi

Engr. Michael Oluwagbemi, Head of Senator Babafemi Ojudu’s new media has said his principal would defeat former Ekiti Governors, Segun Oni, and Kayode Fayemi to snatch the All Progressive Congress, APC, ticket ahead of the Ekiti governorship election.

Oluwagbemi, speaking in an interview with DAILY POST, claimed that Senator Babafemi Ojudu, the special Adviser to President Muhammadu Buhari on Political Matters made both Oni and Fayemi politically, adding that he could not be intimidated in the primaries.

He boasted that his principal, unlike other candidates, had not been accused or declared wanted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, of embezzling public funds.

He said this made him the best candidate above others to pick the APC ticket for Ekiti governorship election, come May 5, 2018.

Olwagbemi said “The honest truth is that Ojudu does not need anyone to carry him or endorse him, he is a true son of the soil who fought dictatorship of General Sani Abacha. He spent several years in prison and fought Ibrahim Babangida and led a group of others to help restore democracy.

“He also defeated Fayose in senatorial election so he does not need anybody to carry him. So why would he not win?

“We are very sure that whoever emerges as APC candidate would go on and win in general elections.

“On winning the primaries, the difference is very clear between Ojudu and every other candidate irrespective of their former offices.

“Ojudu was the chief strategist to Segun Oni and Fayemi when they were running against each other in 2011, Ojudu was the brain behind both of their candidacies in 2011. He resigned from his position as Chief strategist after he nominated them into PDP ad APC respectively.

“He made them politically, they cannot in anyway threaten his ambition.

“Ojudu’s source of wealth is open and clear unlike others. So nobody can accuse him of ever taking a dime foorm public funds.

“Among the three leading candidates he is the only candidate fielded that has no corruption case and has never been found wanting by EFCC.

“Fayose’s fate is already determined, EFCC is just waiting to throw the books at him after his tenure. So, I can assure you that Fayose will spend the latter days of his life in Kirikiri prison.

“I assure you that unlike Fayemi, we would not let him go, Fayose’s criminality is publicly known.

“Fayose, PDP would be defeated hands down by APC come July 14.”

He, however, added that the party was a big family despite differences.

“The way we look at APC primaries we are one big family, the fact that we have 23 candidates shows that APC ticket is a ticket to have. On the other hand in the PDP they are fighting over spilled milk where Fayose has nominated his baby that he gave birth to in Ikere -Ekiti,” he said.

When asked about his resignation as Buhari’s special adviser on political matters, Oluwagbemi stated that the President will determine that as his principal’s appointment was not approved by the senate.

“Ojudu was not specifically confirmed by the senate ,he is the special adviser to the president and works at his pleasure.

“When the president thinks he should resign he would do so but if he is given APC ticket, he would do what is needed.

“Also if he is required by law of the land to resign, he would and come back to contest, otherwise if the president thinks he can do the job, then he would continue,” he added.
