The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has released the former Director-General of the Department of State Security (DSS), Ita Ekpeyong.

DAILY POST reports that Ekpeyong was arrested on Thursday afternoon, following a raid of his Abuja home by anti-graft detectives.

He was moved to the EFCC headquarters in Abuja for questioning, but has now been released after being unable to provide much information about former director of the DSS, Lawal Daura, according to Premium Times.

Daura was himself arrested after being sacked by Acting President Yemi Osinbajo on Tuesday afternoon.
