The Imam was kidnapped along with three others on Friday, a report by Daily Trust said.
The assailants also blocked the Sabon Birni-Gatawa Road on Saturday, shot three persons and kidnapped seven others.
The member representing Sabon Birni South Constituency in the state’s House of Assembly, Sa’idu Ibrahim, who confirmed the attack, said the injured persons were currently receiving treatment at a hospital in Wamakko.
He said another woman, who was shot at Dama Village, had her leg amputated because it could not be fixed.
When contacted, spokesperson for the Sokoto Police Command, ASP Sanusi Abubakar, said he would contact the officer in charge of the area and get back to our reporter but he had yet to do so as of the time of filing this report.
SaharaReporters had earlier reported that President Muhammadu Buhari vowed that his regime would flush out bandits from the country.
Buhari had given the assurance on Friday when a Nigerian Government delegation paid a visit to Governor Aminu Tambuwal over the killing of 23 travellers by suspected bandits.
