Champions League: Roy Keane, Lee Dixon reveal favourites to win trophy

Former Manchester United and Arsenal legends, Roy Keane and Lee Dixon have revealed their favourites to lift this season’s Champions League trophy.

Liverpool and Roma secured their places in the semi-finals on Tuesday evening after memorable victories over Manchester City and Barcelona respectively.

Relatively, Real Madrid reached the last four after a dramatic win over Juventus and were joined by Bayern Munich.

Real Madrid are the bookmakers’ favourites to win the trophy in Kiev but Arsenal great, Dixon has opined that Liverpool’s attack can get the better of any opposition on their day.

Dixon told ITV Sports, “Liverpool have got a great chance with those three up front. Even if they get drawn against Real Madrid with their two full-backs and how they don’t defend – I think Liverpool can beat anybody.”

But according to Keane, Cristiano Ronaldo, who scored a late penalty to knock Juventus out of the competition, makes Madrid the clear favourites.

Keane also told ITV, “The only edge I would give to Liverpool would be Real Madrid because of Ronaldo – simple as that.

“Okay, they have a dodgy goalkeeper, they were poor at the back but Ramos will be back.

“Slight favourites would be Real Madrid because of their experience and Ronaldo is the main man.”
