Real Madrid star, Cristiano Ronaldo has equalled former Manchester United teammate, Ruud van Nistelrooy’s Champions League goal record in the 2-1win against Paris Saint-Germain at the Parc des Princes stadium in the second leg of the UEFA Champions League round of 16 clash.

Ronaldo’s goal against PSG means he has now scored in nine consecutive matches in the Champions League this season.

Only Van Nistelrooy has achieved such a feat in Europe’s topflight competition.

Incredibly, Ronaldo’s goal in Paris was his 14th across those nine games.

Van Nistelrooy only managed 12 goals by comparison.

Ronaldo is now averaging a goal every 60 minutes in the Champions League.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid were already holding a 3-1 advantage from the first leg at the Bernabeu and the La Liga giants extended their lead in the 51st minute on Tuesday evening.

Ronaldo made no mistake just after the break with a powerful header to put his team out of sight.

Casemiro cancelled out Edinson Cavani’s 71st minute effort with a goal of his own to put the icing on the cake with ten minutes remaining and the tie ended 5-2 on aggregate.
