Champions League: Mesut Ozil reveals Arsenal’s target under Arteta

Arsenal playmaker, Mesut Ozil has disclosed the Gunners’ target under their manager, Mikel Arteta this season.

According to Ozil, the club’s target this campaign is to qualify for next year’s UEFA Champions League.

Arsenal are currently in the tenth position on the Premier League table with 31 points from 25 matches ahead of their clash with Newcastle United this weekend.

Arteta’s side must finish on top-four on the Premier League table this season to qualify for Europe topflight league tournament next season. However, Ozil believes the North London club can still be eligible because they now know what they are doing under Arteta.

“Our main goal this season is to qualify for next season’s UEFA Champions League,” Ozil was quoted by Mirror UK as saying.

“This is just two months that Mikel Arteta took charge of the club, and everyone now knows the team has now improved tactically.

“It is hard to say this, but we can be in the Champions League because the confidence is now back.

“With the right results, we will surely finish in the top four at the end of the season.”
