Chelsea’s stars are not happy with manager Antonio Conte for his display after the 3-0 loss to Barcelona at Camp Nou on Wednesday.

The players were irritated by Conte’s decision to seek out Bareclona’s hit-man Lionel Messi.

The Blues were dumped out of the Champions League after suffering a 3-0 defeat at Camp Nou.

Messi scored twice, while he also assisted Ousmane Dembele for his goal in the first half.

Immediately after the final whistle, Conte approached Messi, hugged and chatted with him for a while.

The Chelsea manager then went up to Messi for a second time to speak with the Barcelona forward before leaving the pitch.

Spanish newspaper, Marca, said that Chelsea’s players were ‘irked’ by Conte’s decision to walk on to the pitch to embrace Messi, while his dejected squad applauded the fans before heading back to the dressing room.

After the match, Conte admitted he felt compelled to personally praise Messi for his display against Chelsea at Camp Nou.

The Italian had said, “When you have the opportunity to make a great compliment to Messi, it is right to recognise a super, super, super top player.”
