The Enugu State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, on Tuesday again accused ‎minister of foreign affairs, Geoffery Onyeama of incessant harassment of party members with security operatives.

The Party appealed to President Muhammadu Buhari to kindly call the minister to order.

It alleged that Onyeama had refused to embrace the olive branch recently extended to him and some other suspended members of the party loyal to him.

This followed the invitation extended to the APC secretary in Udi local government Area of the state, Chief Felix Ebubeagu Okafor, by the Department of State Services.

It said the minister’s action had done more harm than good to the party in the state, and wondered why Onyeama, should be using his position and office to pull down APC in the state.

It accused the Minister of deriving joy in sponsoring crisis in the state, using the suspended deputy chairman, Adolphus Udeh and some facless individuals unknown to the party.

Speaking Tuesday in Enugu, the state Chairman, Dr. Ben Nwoye described the development as quite unfortunate.

Nwoye said that Okafor had been invited for questioning by the state Command of the DSS on Wednesday, 7/3218 over a petition written against him by the Minister through the suspended Deputy chairman, Udeh.

According to Nwoye, “the Minister, wrote a petition to the security outfit, alleging that Okafor made some derogatory statements against his person during a radio programme in Enugu.”

Nwoye said that a security organization as DSS do not have any business in handling such matter.

Nwoye said: “we, the members of APC in Enugu state, are calling on president Buhari to help us call the foreign Affairs Minister to order, he should leave us alone; Onyeama remains a cog in the wheel of progress of the party in the state.

“The Minster is causing problem in our party in the state, he should stop distracting us and funding crisis. Onyeama should please allow us concentrate on our move towards wining elections in 2019.

“It is unfortunate that the Minister is dragging us back in our quest towards sending the PDP packing in the state come 2019”, Nwoye stated.
