President Bola Tinubu, during his inaugural speech as the 16th President of Nigeria, praised the efforts and contributions of his predecessor, former President Muhammadu Buhari, stating that he has done his best for Nigeria.
Delivering his address at the Eagle Square, Tinubu declared, “Allow me to pay my respects to my predecessor, President Muhammadu Buhari. He has been an honest man and a patriotic leader. Buhari has given his utmost for the nation.”
Tinubu assumed office as the 16th President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in a ceremony held earlier today. Kashim Shettima, simultaneously, was inaugurated as the Vice President of Nigeria.
The Chief Justice of the Federation, Olukayode Ariwoola, administered the oath of office to the President at 10:40 am, shortly after the Vice President took his oath of office.
