Biafra: Why Ojukwu failed – Nnamdi Kanu’s wife, Uchechi

[ad_1]

Uchechi Kanu, wife of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu ‎has given insight into why the late warlord, Odumegu Ojukwu failed to rule Nigeria.

She said Ojukwu failed because Nigerians never wanted an Igbo person to rule the country.

Ojukwu led the Biafran army that failed in their attempt to secede the South East from Nigeria in 1967.

Despite his failed attempt at seceding from the country, Ojukwu later contested for presidency but failed.

However, Uchechi, in an interview with BBC Igbo, said the people of the South East deserved more than they were getting from the country.

“Nigerians will not allow an Igbo person lead the country but if they had allowed, Ojukwu wouldn’t have failed,” she said.
