Former governor of Bauchi State, Mallam Isa Yuguda has said he was forced to shed tears receiving thousands of supporters from 7 LGAs of the state in preparatory to Bauchi South senatorial bye election billed for next month

Yuguda hinted DAILY POST exclusively in an interview in Bauchi, saying democracy is about people.

He said, with the turn out of people at the rally, it was clear that the Green Party of Nigeria will win during the senatorial bye election being a tested and trusted former governor.

” Honestly I am exited seeing my supporters trekking bare footed in kilometres and determined to give me warm welcome since I left the shores of politics in 2015 and I believe victory is mine during the senatorial bye election,” Yuguda said

It could be recalled that senator Ali Wakili representing Bauchi South had recently died after a brief illness and it’s expected that INEC will conduct a bye election within 90 days to fill the vacuum.

According to the former governor, his eight years strides has made him to enjoy votes from all and sundry in the 7 LGAs of the state.

He said, ” What happened in 2007 will be repeated in Bauchi during the senatorial bye election.”

Yuguda, therefore, urged the people to vote the Green Party of Nigeria irrespective of party affiliation for purposeful development.
