Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar has announced that he does not have a preferred aspirant for the PDP governorship candidate in Kogi State. Atiku stressed that the decision to elect the party’s flag bearer for the upcoming state election is the responsibility of the primary election electors.
Atiku urged all candidates to refrain from using his name to gain influence and called on the media not to yield to any blackmail against him. His spokesperson, Paul Ibe, stated that Atiku believes all aspirants in the election are capable of representing the PDP and that the electorate should be granted the freedom to choose the best candidate for the party.
The statement emphasized Atiku’s commitment to internal democracy in party politics and denounced any media reports suggesting his support for a particular candidate as false and fabricated.
