APC ward congress in Abia extended to Sunday

The Abia state ward congress of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has been extended to Sunday.

Addressing newsmen at the APC state secretariat in Umuahia on Saturday evening after a closed door with the Ward and local government congresses, the APC chairman in Abia, Hon. Donatus Nwankpa explained that the ward congresses was ongoing in some parts of the state, revealing that the congress was extended to Sunday in order to correct some lapses.

He said, “The ward congress is ongoing in some places in the state but it has been extended. The Abia congresses have officially been extended to Sunday.

“So for that, you will wait for further results from your various correspondences from various places”.

Meanwhile, the APC Ward and Local government congress committee chairman for Abia state, and former speaker of Kogi state House of Assembly, Abdullahi Bello has thanked the leaders and stakeholders of Abia APC for their patience and support to the committee which has made their work easier.

He said, “I must first, thank the leaders and stakeholders of the party for their patience and support since yesterday we came in. We are assuring all of a credible congress.”

Bello said the committee was in a move to achieved peaceful and transparent congresses and solicited the continued support of the party members to the committee.
