The General Commission of The Africa Road Builders – Trophée Babacar NDIAYE has the honor to announce that the President of the African Development Bank (AfDB) will sponsor the 3rd edition of the event scheduled for May 2018 in Busan in South Korea.

The AfDB explains that: “The acceptance of sponsorship by Dr ADESINA of the 3rd edition of The Africa Road Builders – Trophée Babacar NDIAYE will be an opportunity to once again pay tribute to the late Babacar NDIAYE and honor his memory for his immense contribution to the development of our dear Continent during his life and, in particular, his passage at the head of the institution “.

On the other hand, “the bank has a strong track record in promoting infrastructure development in Africa, including increased funding for road and air transport. In doing so, the bank will support greater mobility and maintain stronger connectivity between African countries and with the rest of the world, thus further promoting the integration of the African economy, ” the AfDB further explains.

The General Commission commends the renewed commitment of the AfDB and its President, Dr Akinwumi ADESINA. At the instigation of President ADESINA, the AfDB is increasingly committed to infrastructure, transport and mobility to meet the challenges facing Africans and the world. In a tribune he signed on the occasion of the second edition, last year in India, President Babacar NDIAYE rightly recalled the remarkable contribution of President ADESINA by quoting one of his quotations: Africa has 65% of the world’s fallow arable land, which could meet the food needs of 9 billion people on the planet by 2050 “. President Babacar NDIAYE therefore welcomed the fact that “Feeding Africa” and “Integrating Africa” are the chapters of the same project: “Transforming Africa”. A project dear to President Akinwumi ADESINA.

With the vision of these two great men, the General Commission proposed the following theme for the 3rd edition: “Transport and Industrial Transformation of Africa”. This edition is scheduled for May 23, 2018 at the Park Hyatt Busan Hotel in Busan, South Korea, on the sidelines of the AfDB 2018 Annual Meetings. Previously, a launching ceremony is scheduled for April 6, 2018 at Kigali Convention Centre in Kigali, Rwanda, according to the Official List of 2017, which saw Presidents Paul KAGAME (Rwanda) and Macky SALL (Senegal) being crowned “Super Prix Grand Bâtisseur – Trophée Babacar NDIAYE”.

The General Commission recalls that The Africa Road Builders – Trophée Babacar NDIAYE T is a forum and an awards ceremony whose objectives are:
– Promote modern and efficient roads and transport for a developed Africa.
– Promote greater mobility
– Promote, around the road and transport, innovative services that contribute to boosting the African economy.
