Abia: Ukwa/Ngwa bloc endorses Senator Orji for second term

The people of Ukwa/Ngwa extraction in Abia State have passed a vote of confidence on the former Governor of the state and the current senator, representing Abia central senatorial zone in the National Assembly, Chief Theodore Orji for quality representation.

They assured him of massive support for his reelection in 2019.

Governor Okezie Ikpeazu hails from Ukwa/Ngwa extraction in Abia state.

The people of Ukwa/Ngwa spoke at a grand civic reception organized in honour of Senator Theodore Orji at the Ngwa High School, Aba.

An elder statesman and the leader of Ukwa/Ngwa clan, Elder Emmanuel Adaelu, thanked Senator Orji for standing firmly in the spirit of charter of equity to ensure an Ukwa/Ngwa son emerged in 2015.

According to Adaelu, “We, the people of Ukwa/Ngwa are thanking you for standing firmly on the existing chapter of equity in ensuring that Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu, a son of Ukwa/Ngwa emerged Abia governor in 2015 election.

“This is first of its kind in the history of Abia state that an Ukwa/Ngwa son became Governor of the state. For this singular gesture, we have resolved to massively support you, (Orji) for reelection in 2019 to continue your good and quality works in Abia central zone and the senate at large.

“Also for ensuring our son, Governor Ikpeazu emerges Governor in 2015, we will not relent in our support to ensure he is returned in 2019 to consolidate on the gains made so far him.”

They used the occasion to call on the people of Old Bende bloc to continue to give their support to their son, Governor Okezie Ikpeazu, especially in his re-election next year.

Thanking the people of Ukwa/Ngwa extraction for the honour accorded to him, Senator Orji, who was accompanied by his wife, Mrs Mercy Odochi Orji, his son and Majority Leader in Abia State House of Assembly, Engr Chinedu Orji was filled with sense of fulfilment.

He said that he would continue to stand on the existing charter of equity as enshrined by the founding fathers of Abia state.

The ex-governor assured that he would remain determined and steadfast in ensuring the people of the state were provided with dividends of democracy.

On his part, Governor Okezie Ikpeazu, thanked the people of Ukwa/Ngwa for deeming it proper to appreciate Senator T A Orji for standing for them.

He made it clear that his administration will not relent in offering the best to the good people of the State.

The grand civic reception was attended by the State Deputy Governor, Ude Oko Chukwu, Speaker of Abia state of House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Chikwendu Kanu, Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe, Senator Mao Ohuabunwa, Senator Godswill Akpabio, Senator Jonah Jang, Senator Abdulahi Adamu, Senator Samuel Anyanwu and a former President of the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Adolf Wabara.
