Abandoned child recovered from uncompleted building in Bauchi

An abandoned one-day-old baby boy has been found in an incomplete building in Bauchi.

The incident occurred along Nguru road within Bauchi metropolis in the wee hours of Monday.

Residents told DAILY POST that an unknown hunter discovered the baby boy while crying on the floor of the uncompleted building.

According to them, it took the efforts of a good Samaritan to pick the baby and wrapped her before medical attention was given to him.

One Rabi Ayuba confirmed being in the custody of child, saying it has been over 20 years that she got married without a children.

She describe the the mother of the abandoned baby as a heartless human being.

Ayuba added that soon, the matter was reported to the police for safety and security purpose.

DAILY POST reported that the scene was a ‘mecca’ as people from all walks of life trooped to witnessed the incident.

DSP Datti Kamal Abubakar, Bauchi state police spokesman confirmed to DAILY POST the discovery of the abandoned baby.

He said the command will investigate the matter with a view to unravelling the situation.
