3 miners killed in Kaduna, several others injured

About three persons have been reported killed following a clash at a mining site in Bakin Kogi village of Kaninkon Chiefdom in Jema’a local government area of Kaduna State.

Alhaji Yusuf Usman, the administrator of the local government area, who confirmed the incident to DAILY POST, said the three persons lost their lives during a shootout between illegal miners.

He explained that during the scuffle, four other persons sustained injuries and were receiving treatment at the Patrick Yakowa Memorial General hospital, Kafanchan.

He said security personnel had been deployed to the area to ensure the sustenance of law and order in the area.

He urged people to go about their normal businesses and report any suspicious persons to the appropriate authority.
