A newly registered political party, the New Progressive Movement (NPM), has advised Nigerian youths to shun moneybags ahead of the 2019 general elections.

The party contended that youths must reject money bag politics so as not to mortgage their future.

Abubakar further stressed the need to mobilise youths across the country to kick against the idea of money bag politics for desired changes in the polity to take place

The Kaduna state Chairman of the party, Malam Mikailu Abubakar said this yesterday when he led members of the party on a courtesy visit to the Kaduna office of Media Trust Limited.

He said, “At this point, we no longer need their money; what we want is their seats.

“We want to take over the mantle of leadership and that is why, ahead of 2019, we will adopt door to door method of campaign to mobilise youths to say no to money politics. They must not mortgage their future for anything.”

He lamented that youths were lagging behind in active politics; saying one of the core goals of the movement was to mobilise them to be active in electoral processes.
