2019: Former Abia speaker, Azubuike declares for governor

Former speaker of Abia state House of Assembly and a Chieftain of the All Progressive Congress, Rt Hon Martins Azubuike on Sunday declared his intention to run for the Governorship seat of Abia State in 2019 general election.

Azubuike who is currently a sitting member of the state Assembly, representing Isiala Ngwa North State constituency made his intention known on Sunday when he hosted supporters at his country home in Isiala Ngwa sSouth Local Government of the s=State.

He decried the inability of the PDP led administration in the state to pay workers salaries upon huge sums of money accrued to the state and promised if elected as governor to use his experiences in administration to ensure dividends of democracy gets to the doorsteps of all Abians.

According to him, the era of government paying salaries on radio and television was over and stressed the need to for all stakeholders to join hands together to move Abia forward.

His words: ”The national leadership of our great party, having considered the sufferings of our people and the need to move Abia state forward at this time, I have decided to serve our people come 2019″

“We no longer need to share our collective resources to individuals, rather we will use our experience in administration to deliver the dividends of democracy to our people”

“Abia state needs to move to the next level,we no longer need propaganda and an administration that will pay salaries on radios and television, we no longer need an Administration that will deploy youths on social media, we need a grounded and experienced men to run our dear state”

‘The leadership of our great party,this is my message and it is the message of hope and development.”
