2019 FIBA World Cup qualifiers: D’Tigers trip delayed by funds

Nigeria’s male basketball team are yet to leave for the 2019 FIBA World Cup qualifiers in Bamako, Mali.

The D’Tigers team were billed to depart Nigeria today (Monday) according to a statement from the Nigerian Basketball Federation (NBBF).

The qualifier is expected to hold between February 23 and February 25.

Nigeria is billed to face Uganda, hosts Mali and Rwanda.

“Truth is the NBBF are still searching for funds to fly the team to Bamako.

“Hopefully by Thursday we should be in Bamako for the qualifiers.

“But the players invited for the FIBA World Cup qualifiers are already making their way to Bamako, Mali but hopefully before Thursday, the whole team will be there,” a source revealed to CompleteSports.
