2019: Buhari not the one in charge in Aso Rock – Saraki

The President of the Senate, Bukola Saraki, has said that President Muhammadu Buhari is not the one in charge in Aso Rock.

The lawmaker, who is also the Director General of the Atiku Abubakar Campaign Organization, was reacting to the drop in Foreign Direct Investment in Nigeria.

A recent report by the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development showed that Ghana has overtaken Nigeria as West Africa’s largest recipient of FDI.

He said the drop was because most foreign investors had come to realize that ‘‘President Buhari is not the one running this administration.”

Speaking on AIT, Saraki said President Buhari had on several occasions, shown he is not in charge of this government.

Saraki added, ”You know we have said many times that there is a government within the government.

“It is clear that the private sector doesn’t have the confidence and that is why if you look at the level of direct investment in the country, you will see that it is low. But our own candidate would drive that.

“He would be able to engage the private sector and inspire confidence to put in investment.”
