2018: IBB has confirmed asking Buhari to step down, denial is fake news – Fani-Kayode

Former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, has claimed that former Military Head of State, Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida, indeed issued a statement telling President Muhammadu Buhari not to stand for re-election next year.

Fani-Kayode stated via his official Twitter handle, after he was challenged for giving “kudos” to Babangida for the statement.

A certain Twitter user by the name Muhammad Bello Kusharki (@mbkusharki) tweeted at Fani-Kayode saying: “IBB issued a statement denying ever releasing the earlier statement.. so stop jubilating fool!!!”

The former Minister replied: “U are the fool. The denial was fake news that was put out by Buhari’s desperate dogs like u. IBB has confirmed it. He stands by Afegbua’s statement and confirmed that he authorised him to release it. Tell PMB to get ready to go back to Daura or Futa Jalon. Whichever he prefers.”

Babangida on Sunday publicly asked Nigerians to vote President Buhari out of office in 2019.
