Ukraine vs Nigeria: Super Eagles midfielder eyes EPL move

Super Eagles midfielder, John Ogu, has admitted he is keen to play in the Premier League.

The 31-year-old is currently a free agent, after leaving Israeli side Hapoel Beer Sheva after five years.

During his time there, he won three league titles and was voted the best foreign player in 2016.

Ogu, who made his Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) debut this year is a huge Arsenal fan and says that a move to England will be a dream.

“Premier League is one of the best leagues in the world and a dream for every footballer,” he told SportingLife.

“I know destiny hasn’t put me there but sometimes what you want in life you don’t get, so I’m just trying to stay positive but if a premier league club comes – I’ll run with all my energy to grab the opportunity.

“Some might say you don’t have the pace for the premier league but there are people currently in the league that I’m faster than. People have their own opinion about players – anyone can say whatever they like but for me as a player whenever I’m on the pitch I don’t care – I just do what I do best. Yeah, so if a premier league side comes, I will take it.”
