Real Madrid forward, Lucas Vazquez is confident that fellow-teammate, Luka Modric will stay at the Santiago Bernabeu this season.

Modric has been heavily linked with a summer move to join the Inter Milan.

The Croatia captain is wanted by the Serie A club and Madrid are insistent the 32-year-old will not be sold.

Vazquez, however, is confident that Modric will remain with the Los Blancos.

“We are calm and counting on him (Modric),” Vazquez told reporters after Real Madrid beat Juventus on Saturday in the International Champions Cup.

“We hope he returns to enjoy Madrid.

“I have no doubt he will stay… well, you never know in football, but I think that Modric is a Madrid player and will continue to be so.

“It’s how I feel. I’m not in his head, but I am sure that he wants to continue. We won’t get worked up.”
